Today was another awesome day in Belize. The water was almost flat calm, the wind was low, and the fish were hungry! Julie and I decided to mix it up a bit and target a non-typical species here, snook. Our guide knew a few spots the fish loved to hang out and we were on them at first light. We landed 3 really nice fish and missed several others as well as a tarpon that came screaming in for the fly. O well….awesome to have the three.
After the snook, we ran to another flat and targeted bonefish. Julie landed several in the 2-5 pound range. Those are big fish for Belize, so we were all pumped.
John Z on our trip also scored his very first tarpon which is fantastic. Congratulations to “Z”! We will post his pictures soon. For now, here are a few of ours from today. Tight lines….
