Michigan Fishing

Alex and I headed up north a couple weeks back for a pretty fun trip. This time of year up there has all kinds of fishing to keep you busy. The kings are EVERYWHERE and as a result, Browns and Steelhead are eating their eggs. We were there mainly for the browns but ended up chasing chrome a lot as well.

The fish above came day 1, first hole, second drift. At that point we knew it would be a good trip.

Later in the day I picked up my first good steelhead and that got the skunk off of the boat for both of us.

The fall colors are pretty epic this time of year, so even if we weren’t catching fish, the scenery would be enough.
Fishing for browns is some of the most visual fishing I have ever done for trout. We would drift down stream, looking for kings on their beds and then hoping to see gold behind them eating eggs. When we found this, it was on.
Come into to the shop and gear up on your steelhead gear and winter brown trout flies. I hope you enjoyed.
